Plus(+)You Tip: How to turn an apple into an hourglass

Hello my voluptuous vixens!

So, we all know about the plus positive messages that have been going around lately in the media…BUT, have you noticed that the images presented are those of girls that have the perfect hourglass figure? Where is the tribute to the Apple, the Pear, the Eggplant!? Aren’t these the more realistic figures that we have? Here is a little insider secret ladies, the hourglass figure CAN exist even if you do not necessarily go in all that much at the waist. How? Ah… The beauty of clothing!

First, pick the figure closest to yours:

Diamond, Triangle, Square, Apple, Hourglass, Upside down Triangle, Pear

If you are either the Triangle, apple, hourglass, or pear…these are considered bottom heavy focused figures…although you may have just as fullness on the top. With these shapes, you want to draw the eye to the smallest part of your body which is your waist…if you don’t go in there, you will want to create the illusion that you do.

The easiest and cheapest way to do this is a cropped jacket. You want to pick a jacket that is lighter in color than the shirt you are wearing underneath or vice versa…NO BLACK ON BLACK, and one that goes no longer than the top or middle of your bellybutton. Also, make sure it is not too big or too tight. You want to be able to button it if it has buttons, but so that when it is buttoned, it is a little bit snug. Your best option for styles is either a blazer (a-line cut) or military style.

For the other figures, or those of you who are fuller at the top or more of an apple figure, you can follow the same rules for the jacket…but you can also pair it with a pesant style shirt…or in other words…a blouse that takes you in at the waste (by either string or spandex) and flows freely at the hips.

Please feel free to submit pictures if you have taken this advice and liked it!!

Beauty V.S Aesthetics

“There is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness.” - Lady Blessington

This is true, ladies! The barest, most glowing beauty does not come from cosmetics, trendy clothing, or perfect hair….it comes from CONFIDENCE. You don’t have to be size zero to be attractive, girls…in fact, most men find curvier women more sexually appealing. Sadly, I am seeing a lot of girls with their makeup caked on in an attempt to accentuate their “best features (face)” because they feel as though their body is nothing to look at. STOP overdoing it with hair and makeup! How do you expect others to find ALL of you sexy if YOU DON’T. With all of the cosmetics, you are saying to people, “Hey, my body isn’t good enough to look at…so just settle for my face instead” That’s the WORST thing you can do to yourself. Did you know  that if you cut your beauty regiment in half and double up on your positive and confidence, that you will be just as attractive to people as if you didn’t cut down on your regiment? That saves time AND money…and it will make you feel better at the end of the day!

At PlusYou, we will help you gain that confidence and help you to create a more natural look while also helping you to select clothing that accentuate the best parts of your body rather than camouflage most of it.

In the meantime, here is a little teaser:

In a rush and no time for makeup? NO PROBLEM! Here is a little trick boost your confidence and get that attention that you want without a regiment!

-Wear a “confident” color….something like a dark blue or purple. Both of these colors represent creativity, fun, and sociability.

-Don’t have any of these colors? That’s okay too! a little lipstick goes a long way. Depending on your skin tone, find a lipstick that works for you..make sure it is something on the warmer side. If you’re a blonde, a bold cherry red is a perfect sexy touch….If you’re a brunette or darker, try a deep mahogany red. Slap some gloss over it and you’re ready to go!
